Winter Celebration 2026 — or: Eating with our paws!

“Tadaa – it was ICO-LUX team event day!”—that’s how our LinkedIn-post began, where we also experimented a bit with how image galleries and sliders resonate with our followers. In the gallery, we shared impressions from our team-building outing at the end of January at the Adult Education Centre (the good old German “Volkshochschule”) in Jena. And what kind of course did we take? Well…

In our day-to-day work, we are known to deal with documents that look a little “fishy” in an undesirable way. At our team event, however, fish was very much welcome—real fish, in fact. Salmon, to be precise. And a bit of tuna—from a tin, though, with mayonnaise. Any guesses what we were up to?

Not yet? Here’s another hint: as always, we worked on achieving the perfect “roll-out” — this time in a hands-on way, all together, on-site, in the same room instead of remotely. Clear now?

Alright then — let’s get to the point: for one afternoon, we shifted our focus from to team building and immersed ourselves in the art of sushi-making. The course was led by Mayu from Japan, who has been living in Jena for several years and teaches classes related to her home country at the local Adult Education Centre. Some teams focused on presentation. Others on abundance. A third group optimised workflows and formed sub-teams to produce as much as possible… Either way, sushi—like good anti-fraud solutions—is all about what’s inside. And of course, everything was shared. By the way, we ate with our hands—because that’s the traditional Japanese way, as Mayu told us.

And since not everyone had had enough of the team day, we later headed—gradually in smaller groups—into Wagnergasse and rounded off the evening at “Stilbruch”. The perfect opportunity to show off our new hoodies in company style, which we had gifted ourselves earlier that afternoon.
