Meet the team, part 4:
Felix

Let'c continue our series from last spring and present some more ICO-LUX team members.

Who are you?

My name is Felix. I live with my family in a quiet suburb of Jena. I actually studied physics, but have been working as a developer at ICO-LUX GmbH since the company was founded. That means I was the first employee – and I’m still here! When I’m not sitting at my computer or spending time with my family, I love climbing. I also have a few bikes, which I do actually use, and I play funk, soul and jazz on my trumpet in the wonderful Blue Beans Big Band.

What exactly do you do?

I’ve always been developing our private health insurance products in C++. Also, I do a lot of work on integration and deployment, so I enjoy interacting directly with customers. I’m also heavily involved in our now award-winning ICO.Link project – a technology that detects multiple insurance fraud without insurance companies actually having to share data. Thanks to state-of-the-art encryption technologies and clever solutions, this is actually possible, and our pilot projects so far have been very promising.
At the moment, I’m also working intensively with a small team to relaunch our front end so that it’s more intuitive to use. There’s quite a lot on the go at once – but that means I’m constantly learning new things, such as working with Claude Code, for example.

What connects you to ICO-LUX?

It's been my first permanent job after university – and the fact that we’re growing together as a company, that my responsibilities are expanding, my wealth of experience, my children… I also associate ICO-LUX with agility and speed in an industry that tends to operate in a rather traditional way.
