It was International Office Dog Day recently – and we, too, are sometimes delighted to have a visit from Bella, who belongs to our collegue Swantje. And this instalment of ‘Meet the Team No. 5’ is all about Swantje!
Who are you?
I rarely sit still, neither at work nor in my private life.
From logistics to laser technology and IT start-ups, I’ve done quite a bit in my career. And somehow, the same pattern has emerged everywhere: I like to solve problems pragmatically, communicate clearly and approach people in an uncomplicated way.
My private life is very much the same: I’m active in a club, where I look after public relations. To unwind, I spend time in the garden, out and about with my camera, or out with my dog – who, in theory, spends the whole day relaxing under my desk, but in practice probably knows more company secrets and tricks of the trade than he really ought to. And if Die Toten Hosen are playing somewhere in the summer, that’s where you’ll find me.
What exactly do you do?
Officially, I’m a Key Account & Sales Manager in the private health insurance sector – unofficially, I’m something of a customer advocate, problem-solver and, at times, a liaison between clients and the development team.
I look after our existing clients, engage with them directly on a regular basis and try to find out what they really need – and then pass this on to the development team. At the same time, I also bring new clients on board.
One of our current priorities is planning our first private health insurance client workshop in Jena – a format aiming to involve our clients in the insurance sector even more closely and work together to find solutions.
What connects you to ICO-LUX?
I really appreciate the flexibility between working from home and working in the office, and at the same time I feel a great deal of trust in my work. My knowledge and experience are not only valued, but are also actively incorporated into decision-making processes.
My job is sometimes better than any TV series. What I find particularly exciting is the content side of my work: I regularly get an insight into real-life cases – some of which are quite surprising or bizarre stories that make you think, ‘OK, I wouldn’t have thought this was even possible’.
